GCH-6000A - FUNDAMENTALS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

GCH6000A – Fundamentals of Chemical Engineering is an interdisciplinary course covering the fundamental principles of chemical engineering. Two topics are offered each year from among the following areas: transport phenomena, reaction engineering and catalysis, chemical thermodynamics, materials production and processing, biotechnological processes, process modeling and machine learning, and process sustainability.

The topics offered for the 2026–2027 academic year are:

Fall 2026: Transport Phenomena and Chemical Thermodynamics
Winter 2027: Reaction Engineering and Materials Processing

Please note that, in the PhD program in Chemical Engineering, this course is mandatory and must be completed with a minimum grade of B. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the termination of the student's candidacy. For students enrolled in the MSc (Research) in Chemical Engineering, either GCH3515 – Transport Phenomena or GCH6000A – Fundamentals of Chemical Engineering may be taken.
