Montréal – Polytechnique Montréal cordially invites media representatives to attend the awarding of the third annual $30,000 Order of the White Rose scholarship to a Canadian woman engineering student who wishes to enrol in graduate studies (master’s or PhD) at the institution of her choice in Canada or elsewhere in the world. The ceremony will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Galerie Rolland, on the 6th floor of the main Polytechnique building, in the presence of the Polytechnique community and with Valérie Plante, Mayor of Montréal, in attendance.

Montréal — The Government of Québec today confirmed by decree the appointment of Philippe A. Tanguy, P. Eng., PhD, as the 15th Chief Executive Officer of Polytechnique Montréal. Mr. Tanguy will assume his new post in January 2018.

Mise à jour le jeudi 13 septembre 2001, 17 h 20. Le premier ministre Jean Chrétien a décrété un jour de deuil national à la suite de la tragédie américaine. Cette journée aura lieu demain, le vendredi 14 septembre. Toutefois, les activités normales ne seront pas suspendues. La communauté de Polytechnique respectera une minute de silence demain, à 11 h.

Les mille nouveaux étudiants de l'École Polytechnique prennent littéralement l'École d'assaut au cours de la semaine d'initiation qui débute aujourd'hui. Certains ont même construit des abris de fortune à l'extérieur de l'École pour y passer la semaine, jour et nuit. Divisés par classe, ils rivalisent d'imagination pour se faire remarquer et remporter la course à l'exploit.

Montréal – Viewing waste as a resource with true economic value is the key focus of the Research Chair in Waste Recovery at Polytechnique Montréal, inaugurated today in the presence of its partners: founding partner Ville de Montréal as well as the Ville de Laval and RECYC-QUÉBEC. The aim of the researchers is to identify strategies for treating household waste that will put as much of it as possible into “recovery loops,” in order to reduce landfill and one day achieve a final waste product that will account for less than 5% of weekly garbage.
