Serge Striganuk

Serge StriganukSerge Striganuk has been Vice President, Talent, Culture, Environment and Society, at Polytechnique Montréal since February 1, 2024.

Biography

Professor Striganuk received his PhD in Education from Université de Sherbrooke in 2010, after having earned a Master’s in Education (MEd) degree from the same institution in 2000. He completed his Bachelor’s in Physical Education – Teaching from the Université de Montréal in 1981.

Mr. Striganuk served as Vice President, Business and Resources at Polytechnique Montréal from 2021 to 2024 and was Dean of the Faculty of Education at Université de Sherbrooke from 2013 to 2021. Prior to this, he was Director of the Department of Education and Training Management at Université de Sherbrooke for four years. He was also a professor in the same department between 2001 and 2021.

From 2014 to 2021, Professor Striganuk served as President of the Association des doyens, doyennes et directeurs, directrices pour l’étude et la recherche en éducation au Québec (ADEREQ). In this capacity, his expertise was sought after to contribute to several files with the Québec government’s Ministère de l'Éducation and Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur. He also co-chaired the Table Ministère de l'éducation-Universités (TMU), and was co-chair of the Table de concertation en éducation associated with the Bureau de coopération interuniversitaire (BCI) from 2015 to 2021. He was a member of the Association of Canadian Deans of Education (ACDE).

Mr Striganuk’s work focuses on school management and teamwork. His research interests include governance in education, collaboration in educational institutions and change in education in Québec.
