FOUTSE KHOMH, ENG., PH.D., FULL PROFESSOR

Foutse Khomh earned a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics (2000), a Master’s degree in mathematics (2001), and a postgraduate research diploma in mathematics (2003) from the University of Yaoundé I, as well as a degree in computer engineering design and software engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique de Yaoundé I in Cameroon (2005). He completed a Ph.D. at Université de Montréal (2011) and a postdoctoral fellowship at Queen’s University (2011–2012).

He is a full professor of software engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, the holder of several prestigious chairs, and a leading expert in quality assurance for machine learning-based software systems, a burgeoning field of research that fills a crucial gap in AI adoption. In 2025, Polytechnique Montréal awarded him the Excellence in Research and Innovation Award.

As scientific co-director of IVADO, Professor Khomh has extensive experience in research governance, strategic partnerships with government, industry and academia, and international reach.

Through his involvement in numerous editorial boards, scientific councils, professional associations and funding agencies in Canada and abroad, he has built a reputation as a network builder and respected scientific ambassador.
