Nanoparticles present remarkably varied and new properties. In medicine, They promise to revolutionize drug delivery, gene therapy, diagnostics, and many areas of research, development and clinical application. Our laboratory has presently two main research themes in nanomedicine.

• A research on nanoparticles that deliver chemotherapy drugs directly to cancer cells and that can be used for hyperthermia. This technique reduces damage to healthy cells in the body.
• Another line of research is on the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis based on super paramagnetic nanoparticles.
