Our mission is to promote the research, innovation and development of emergent biomaterials and new medical devices, as well as to assess their bioperformance. We plan to participate in the training and education of an increasing number of students, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. By combining state-of-the-art research with academic education, the LIAB intends to contribute significantly to the progress and development of the biomedical engineering discipline. The impressive quantity and diversity of our equipment and facilities offer outstanding means to achieve quality research work and education.

Specific aims

• To promote and encourage knowledge within the fields of biomedical engineering and biomaterials for the benefit of industry and the general community by teaching, scholarship, and advanced research.
• To provide students with the advantage of a university education.
• To contribute to the corporate mission of the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal.
