CUMULATIVE BACHELOR’S DEGREE

The cumulative Bachelor of Science allows you to earn an undergraduate degree by combining certificate programs. The degree lists the three certificates that make up your academic pathway, as well as the date each certificate was awarded.

All of the following requirements must be met :

• You must have earned three certificates whose combined courses total at least 90 distinct credits. Credits for the same course may only be counted once, even if the course was used toward two of the certificates leading to the Bachelor of Science.

• At least two of the three certificates must have been awarded by Polytechnique Montréal. Neither the Certificate in professional development for international engineering graduates nor the Certificate in engineering can be counted towards the Bachelor of Science. 

• Certificates earned at institutions other than Polytechnique Montréal, Université de Montréal or HEC Montréal must undergo a program recognition process. A request for program recognition may only be submitted after the corresponding certificate has been awarded by the other university (see Article 18.3).  

• You must meet the French-language proficiency requirements set out in Regulation 14.   

• No more than 10 years may elapse between the date the first certificate is awarded and the date the last certificate is awarded.

Some pathways allow you to earn a designation in a specific field. To qualify for a designation, all three certificates must be selected from the programs that are eligible for the chosen designation.

In addition to meeting the general requirements outlined above, your pathway must follow one of these two combinations:

• Three certificates offered by Polytechnique Montréal (90 credits), selected from those eligible for the chosen designation;

OR

• Two certificates offered by Polytechnique Montréal, totalling 60 credits, and one certificate offered by HEC Montréal or Université de Montréal (30 credits), selected from the eligible programs listed below for the chosen designation.

The cumulative Bachelor of Science with a designation in Cybersecurity offers specialized, cutting-edge training in cybersecurity, including courses on investigation methods, cyberfraud prevention, network security, and information systems security management.

Designed to anticipate the evolving needs of organizations, this program equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to help protect against cybercrime. The degree is also a valuable asset for employers seeking professionals with the cybersecurity expertise needed to address challenges in this field.

You must include at least two of the following certificate programs offered by Polytechnique Montréal :

• Certificate in analysis and operational cybersecurity (in English) or Certificat en analyse et cybersécurité opérationelle (in French) 
• Certificat en architecture et gestion de la cybersécurité (in French) 
• Certificat en cryptomonnaies et chaîne de blocs (in French)
• Certificat en cyberenquête (in French) 
• Certificat en cyberfraude (in French) 
• Certificat en gestion et réponse aux cyberincidents (in French) 
• Certificat en Internet industriel des objets (IoT) (in French)
• Undergraduate certificate in cybersecurity or Certificat en cybersécurité des réseaux informatiques. These programs are no longer offered at Polytechnique Montréal, but are still accepted for the cumulative bachelor’s degree.

You may complete all three certificates at Polytechnique Montréal or choose to complete one of the three at one of the following institutions :

• Certificat en analyse d’affaires – cybersécurité (HEC Montréal - in French) 
• Certificat en enquête et renseignement (Université de Montréal - in French) 
• Certificat en informatique appliquée (Université de Montréal - in French) 
• Certificat de criminologie (Université de Montréal - in French) 
• Mineure en criminologie (Université de Montréal - in French)
