Robert L. Papineau, Eng., PhD, Director General of École Polytechnique de Montréal, joined today with Charles Dieudé, Director of the Direction des industries du matériel aérospatial et de défense (Québec Regional and Economic Development Ministry), Alain M. Bellemare, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Suzanne D. Corbeil, Vice-President, External Relations, of the Canada Foundation for Innovation, to officially open a technologically cutting-edge virtual-manufacturing laboratory that required investments totalling some $7 million. The occasion also served as the official launch of the new laboratory's Support Service for Québec's high-performance machining industry, representing an additional investment of $170,000 annually from the Regional and Economic Development Ministry, in partnership with the Québec Aerospace Association. The latter was represented today by the Executive Director, Serge Tremblay.
