Over $814,000 in scholarships and awards to encourage excellence at Polytechnique

More than 350 people attended the 2011 Soutien à l'excellence (supporting excellence) ceremony on March 30. A total of over
$814,000 was shared by 314 students from all levels. This annual event provides not only a unique opportunity to reward student
excellence, but also to acknowledge Polytechnique Montréal's partners for their generosity and commitment to supporting the
next generation.
These contributions from companies, foundations and organizations provide important encouragement for recipients. Aside from the financial support, they are recognized for the effort, perseverance and determination that will make their future possibilities so promising.
Speaking at the opening of the evening, Polytechnique Chief Executive Officer Christophe Guy congratulated the winners and
said: "By demanding the best of yourselves and making every effort to successfully complete your engineering studies, you show
us the real meaning of ambition and perseverance."
