Computer Science Games 2011: Polytechnique team finishes third overall
The Computer Science Games are an interuniversity competition involving challenges from all aspects of computing. A thrill-packed weekend of logic puzzles, algorithms, video game competitions, programming and social activities, the Games are organized by a different university each year and bring together undergraduate students from across North America.
Polytechnique Montréal's delegation, which this year consisted of 30 undergraduate and three graduate students (i.e. three 10-student teams and their coaches), took seven prizes, with one team finishing in third place overall.
Awards won by Polytechnique's ElecTRON, Magnets and Duck Tape teams:
ElecTRON, 3rd place overall - 62.68%
ElecTRON, 1st place, Algorithms (tied with University of Guelph) - 124/124
ElecTRON, 3rd place, Team Software Engineering - 82.22%
ElecTRON, 2nd place, Relay Programming - 77.46%
ElecTRON, 2nd place, Puzzle Hero - 86.57%
Magnets, ElecTRON, Duck Tape, 2nd place, Participation - 96.88%
ElecTRON, 2nd place, Scavenger Hunt, (tied with University of Guelph) - 73.07%
