How to place a hold
- In the Sofia discovery tool, click on the title of the document to access the detailed record.
- Click on Request (whether the item is available or currently on loan).
- Sign in if you haven't already.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Select Any Copy (recommended).
- Choose Polytechnique - Lassonde as the pickup location for physical items.
- Click Submit to confirm your reservation request.
- When the document is ready for you, you will receive an email notification letting you know the document is ready for pick up at Polytechnique's Library.
- Once you receive the email notification, you have seven days to pick up your reserved item. For board games, standards, and dictionaries, the pickup window is two days.
ATTENTION : loans are renewed automatically every 30 days, as long as they are not reserved by another patron. Therefor, if you need a book that is checked out, the best way to get it is to place a hold on it. This will prevent the document to be renewed in the borrower's file. The borrower will have to bring back the book in order for the next patron to borrow it.
