On Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, the AEP (Association étudiante de Polytechnique) and the AÉCSP (Association étudiante des cycles supérieurs de Polytechnique) held their annual Merit Ceremony. This is an opportunity for student associations to highlight outstanding educational staff at Polytechnique. In the category Graduate Studies - Complementary Training (CAP), librarian Camille Fitch-Kustcher was nominated for her teaching of CAP7005 – Handling of Scientific and Technical Information. Taught by the Consulting Services librarians, this complementary course is mandatory for graduate students.
While the Library did not win the award this year, the inauguration of the new Complementary Training (CAP) category suggests potential nominations in the future and who knows, maybe one (or many) awards!
Congratulations to Camille on her nomination and for her excellent teaching!
Since 2021, the Library has extended its access in Web of Science to content published from 1900 onwards whereas coverage previously began in 1989. Indexing over 21,000 journals, 134,000 books, and 300,000 conference proceedings, this bibliographic database provides citation information and access to basic analysis tools.
In addition, the Library is subscribed to the in-depth bibliometric analysis tool InCites, which uses data from Web of Science up to 1980.
For more information on these tools’ terms of use and bibliometric services the Library provides, please visit our Bibliometrics and research impact page. You can also send your questions to bilbio@polymtl.ca.
Good news! The Library is currently receiving new computers for its computer lab (L-7607) and will be upgrading its equipment. To allow for the installation of the new material, room L-7607 will be closed temporarily and unavailable for use during the week of March 20th. The computers located in front of the printing room (L-7613) remain available.
If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Library staff at biblio@polymtl.ca.
