How do online courses work?

Online courses are given in three-hour blocks over a 15-week period. They are offered asynchronously, live, by an instructor at a specific time. Asynchronous courses are taped and can be viewed again as needed. You must adhere to set deadlines for submitting assignments and writing exams. Exams may be taken remotely, within Canada.

To follow these courses, you will have access to the VIA platform  (https://www.polymtl.ca/si/audiovisuel/web-collaboration), a service that allows several participants to connect remotely and simultaneously from different locations. You can also access a collaborative workspace to work on shared documents. To participate online in the course, you need only a webcam, earphones with an integrated microphone, and a high-speed internet connection.
