Maxime Raison, Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montreal, and Paul Fisette, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), have developed a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Multibody Dynamics whose program consists of two consecutive courses. This two-part course deals with poly-articulated mechanical systems such as robots, vehicles, the human body and transmission mechanisms.
To allow the study of realistic multibody systems, and thus of a certain complexity, the course is based on the symbolic multibody software ROBOTRAN (developed at UCLouvain), which is free to use within the framework of the MOOC. This software allows you to remotely generate the equations of motion of the system studied.
The basics of Newtonian mechanics and the main concepts of linear algebra are prerequisites for the follow-up of this training.
Courses are open from September 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Courses are free. Certification courses are available for a fee.
