The LiBRTy - Lab of intelligent Biomechanics, Robotics and Rehab Technology - is directed by Maxime Raison, Eng., full Professor at Polytechnique Montreal, in mechanical and biomedical engineering.

LiBRTy members and partners are:

The Lab offers a structure for research and development programming deployed at Polytechnique Montréal in these main fields of practice:

  • multibody dynamic modeling and AI applied to technology design;
  • CAD/3D printing and AI modeling applied to dynamic orthotics devices;
  • robotics, assistive and rehabilitation technology;
  • neuro-rehabilitation technologies.

LiBRTy activities and commitments are aligned with:

  • a good link with the clinical/patient needs in rehabilitation;
  • a commitment to sustainability;
  • welcoming and pairing students with various profiles in multidisciplinary operation by clusters of work/projects (9 clusters generate a portfolio of 30-40 projects for 15-20 students) and in various fields of engineering (Biomedical eng., mechanical eng., software eng., electrical eng., others);
  • research products continuously transferred to clinical practice and teaching;
  • varied partnership/collaboration opportunities;
  • adherence to information security for the sake of desired outcomes;
  • low-cost approach for transfer to the Quebec, national and international rehabilitation network.
