SPECIFICS

  • When considering application requests, Polytechnique may require that candidates whose training does not meet the requirements of this course take CR010. The latter course is offered in the Autumn and Winter semesters in intensive mode. Further, it must be successfully completed in the first term of registration and cannot be used to accumulate credits in the program. This course is offered in French only.
  • Program offered on a part-time or full-time basis.
  • Regular certificate courses are offered online in English, in the evenings. 
  • Program academic path structure must be respected.
  • Equivalence may be possible for a required course, or optional course or a choice course that is not already recognized as equivalent in another program if:
    • the course corresponds to the objectives, content, academic level, and number of credits of a course in the certificate program - no equivalence is granted for a college-level courses or intensive tailored training offered by a company
    • the course has been passed with a equivalent grade of C or better, unless it is the same course
    • the course has not been taken for more than 6 years
    • maximum course credits possible per certificate : 15 credits
  • Exemption may be possible for a required course, or optional course or a choice course only if:
    • your experience or training permits you to be exempt from a course
    • maximum course credits possible per certificate : 6 credits
  • Total possible equivalence and/or exemption credits: half of certificate credits.
  • Non-program courses: a maximum of 6 credits per certificate, non-program courses's credits are not counted toward the certificate requirement ; however, no non-program courses will be accepted after the successful completion of 30 credits required for the certificate program.
  • Once certificate program graduation requirements are met, the student cannot continue their program.
  • Certificate to obtain a B.Sc. (bac par cumul).
  • Certificate to obtain a B.Sc. in Cybersecurity (bac par cumul).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

If you studied at Polytechnique or in a Québec CEGEP:

  • No transcript is required, provided you indicate your Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec issued Permanent Code in your application.
  • Birth certificate with both parents’ first and last names indicated; additional documents attesting to status in Canada may be requested
  • Curriculum vitae – this may be especially relevant should you be returning to studies after an absence, or in the event that you have professional experience in the desired field ; mandatory for holders of an AEC. 
  • Required documents should be sent to one of the following addresses: Polytechnique’s postal address or the address where courier services are received at Polytechnique.
  • No French language test is required upon admission to the certificate.
  • Language requirements apply only upon graduation, in view to obtain the 'bac par cumul', in accordance with Règlement 14 sur la maîtrise du français.

Otherwise, you must provide:

  • Birth certificate with both parents’ first and last names indicated
  • According to legal status in Canada, additional documents attesting to status in Canada may be requested
  • Original or certified true copies of transcripts and diplomas (or certificates), of the last 2-3 years of university or CEGEP studies.
  • Curriculum vitae – this may be especially relevant should you be returning to studies after an absence, or in the event that you have professional experience in the desired field.
  • Required documents should be sent to one of the following addresses: Polytechnique’s postal address or the address where courier services are received at Polytechnique.
  • No French language test is required upon admission to the certificate.
  • Language requirements apply only upon graduation, in view to obtain the 'bac par cumul', in accordance with Règlement 14 sur la maîtrise du français.
