Polytechnique Montréal graduates – Benefits of the Avantage Poly
Avantage Poly is reserved for graduates holding a bachelor’s degree from Polytechnique Montréal.
Avantage Poly allows students, with the authorization of their study or research supervisor or of the coordinator of their graduate program, to receive up to 15 credits for graduate courses taken within their undergraduate program, in a DESS program or a master’s program (professional or research-based).
Credited courses must be in the 6000 or 8000 series, and must have been successfully completed with a minimum grade of B.
Course material in the courses to be credited must be up to date. If the course was taken more than six years prior, the course will be subject to a confirmation request by a qualified authority to assess the educational content of the course in relation to current knowledge and technical practices.
Requests to have these credits recognized must be submitted during the first two semesters after registration in a specific graduate program and the courses must be registered in the student's program of study.
A grade of Y will be assigned to courses credited in the graduate program of study.
| August 1, 2023, deadline date to register for an integrated Bachelor’s-Master’s stream (BMI) The Integrated Bachelor’s-Master’s stream (BMI) will be discontinued and replaced with Avantage Poly. This route gives graduates with a bachelor’s degree from Polytechnique Montréal to have up to 15 credits successfully completed in their undergraduate studies to be recognized in a master’s program (details above). The Fall 2023 semester will be the last semester in which to enter the BMI. If you have already undertaken steps to apply for the BMI in the Fall 2023 semester, you must submit your application before August 1, 2023.
be registered in a bachelor’s degree at Polytechnique Montréal. Students from other universities must complete at least 45 undergraduate credits at Polytechnique Montréal before they can enter the integrated bachelor’s–DESS stream; have completed, or will complete in the current semester, a minimum of 105 credits. Students with a satisfactory GPA after 90 credits must find a professor who will agree to supervise their work for the remaining 45 credits in the integrated bachelor's–DESS stream. Before approving the student’s study plan, the professor (academic supervisor) in collaboration with the person in charge of the undergraduate program in question, must ensure the coherence of all 150 credits of the student’s study plan. In all cases, students must complete the Registrar’s Office form “Plan d'études BDI" which must be signed by the appropriate academic and graduate studies coordinator. |
