The mission of the Centre de recherche, développement et validation des technologies et procédés en traitement des eaux (Centre for Research, Development and Validation of Water Treatment Technologies and Processes – CREDEAU), founded in 2003, is to deal with the complex issues of managing the entire water cycle: drinking water treatment, water collection and distribution network hydraulics and management, wastewater treatment, and management of sludge and odours. CREDEAU brings together leading lights of the Montréal area’s university and industrial communities in a regional centre of excellence and shared research infrastructure.
CREDEAU comprises laboratories, leading-edge analytical equipment and nine highly instrumented and automated pilot units, several of which are mobile. This outstanding platform enables the large-scale laboratory testing of technologies, ensuring the development of solid scientific knowledge, fast implementation, technological innovation and the transfer of technical solutions to users for the benefit of Canadian society.
