Laboratory for Acoustics and Vibration Analysis (LAVA)

The Laboratory for Acoustics and Vibration Analysis (LAVA) brings together talented women and men who work closely with local and international industries to create value and promote technological transfer in leading edge fields such as aviation, road and rail transport, nuclear energy, and professional athletic equipment.
Laboratory for Multiscale Mechanics (LM2)

The research conducted at LM2 mainly deals with metals, polymers, polymer composites, nanocomposites, and living matter. It covers manufacturing, service performance, fluid-structure interactions and mechanical instabilities. LM2 comprises equipment and facilities related to design, processing, manufacturing and characterization of nano-, micro-, and macrosystems including, but not limited to, multiple commercial 3D printers, dispensing robots, as well as mixing equipment (e.g., micro-extruder, 3-roll mill mixer), optical microscopes, and several tensile machines.
chemical engineering teaching laboratories

In the chemical engineering teaching laboratories, students gain hands-on experience with instruments and equipment commonly used in chemical processes. In one of the labs, students are introduced to the classic exchanges (matter, energy, momentum) involved in processes, to instrumentation, and to data acquisition. Our other lab provides them with opportunities to conduct various common unit operations such as pumping, heat exchange, distillation and absorption, as well as process control.
Thin-Film Physics and Technology Research Group – GCM

The GCM has developed a unique infrastructure for the study, modification and manufacturing of thin-film materials as well as for the analysis of surfaces and interfaces. Most of the equipment is housed in a shared central facility accessible to the entire scientific and industrial community.
Centre for Research, Development and Validation of Water Treatment Technologies and Processes – CREDEAU

The mission of the Centre de recherche, développement et validation des technologies et procédés en traitement des eaux (Centre for Research, Development and Validation of Water Treatment Technologies and Processes – CREDEAU), founded in 2003, is to deal with the complex issues of managing the entire water cycle: drinking water treatment, water collection and distribution network hydraulics and management, wastewater treatment, and management of sludge and odours.
