MEDIA INVITATION ÉCOLE POLYTECHNIQUE DE MONTRÉAL INAUGURATES THE LASSONDE BUILDINGS, THE FIRST "SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS" ERECTED BY AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN QUÉBEC A $104.9-million investment

Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the official opening of the Claudette-MacKay-Lassonde and Pierre-Lassonde buildings on Monday, October 3, at 11 a.m. From their earliest stages, these sustainable buildings set out to obtain LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), a certification internationally recognized by the building industry as the gold standard in environmental design. The energy performance of the buildings, which increase Polytechnique's surface area by 35%, is expected to be approximately 60% higher than the energy efficiency levels set by the Model National Energy Code for Buildings.
