Order of the White Rose

The Order of the White Rose Hall of Fame

A constellation of women pioneers. The Hall of Fame honours women who, through their vision, courage and leadership, have shown others the way in engineering and helped build a more egalitarian society.

Recognizing excellence in all its facets. Whether through technical innovation, contributions to the sciences, community engagement or mentorship, each inductee has transformed her milieu and provided inspiration to future generations.

Inspiring by example. For women students and young professionals, inductees are models of perseverance, daring and solidarity who embody professional excellence and have societal impact.

Proclaiming that engineering changes the world. In honouring these women builders, we say loudly and clearly that engineering is a powerful lever for shaping a just, inclusive and sustainable world.

Nathalie Prévost

Nathalie Provost survived the tragedy of December 6, 1989. A month after the event, she returned to Polytechnique to finish her bachelor’s degree, going on to complete a master’s.

Since then, she has had a stellar career as a Québec public servant. She is currently Secretary of State for Nature and Member of Parliament for Châteauguay—Les Jardins-de-Napierville. Fully embracing the duty of remembrance, she is a tireless advocate for gun control and supporter of women in engineering. Alongside Michèle Thibodeau-DeGuire, she was the first co-“godmother” of the Order of the White Rose. A recipient of Canada’s Medal of Bravery, Nathalie Provost embodies resilience, daring, determination and hope.
