Biography

Dr. Houman Savoji is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He is also a full-time researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center and holds the TransMedTech Chair in regenerative medicine, organ-on-a-chip technology, and bioprinting.

He earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

His research focuses on the biofabrication of functional biomaterials for applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and organ-on-a-chip systems. Specifically, he is dedicated to the design, development, optimization, implementation, and characterization of innovative biomaterials, leveraging emerging technologies such as 3D bioprinting and microfluidics.
