Research interests and affiliations

Research interests

The research interests of Professor Myriam Brochu include the study of the microstructure, mechanical behavior, and damage of metallic materials, particularly for applications in the aerospace, automotive, and energy industries. Her research focuses on the development of predictive models for fatigue life and fatigue-corrosion, considering the manufacturing conditions of parts and their microstructure. The main alloys studied are aluminum, high-strength steels, titanium, and nickel superalloys. Additionally, Professor Brochu conducts failure studies to determine the cause(s) of failure in critical structural components.
