Amine Miled earns honourable mention at TEXPO 2012
Amine Miled, a doctoral student in electrical engineering directed by Professor Mohamad Sawan, received an honourable mention at TEXPO 2012, an annual competition organized by the Canadian Microelectronics Corporation (CMC). This year's edition was held in Toronto in October.
The TEXPO
competition is for students engaged in microsystems-related research. Held in conjunction with the CMC Microsystems
Symposium, it provides participants with a unique opportunity to showcase their research efforts to a community of academic and
industrial attendees. Mr. Miled earned his honourable mention in the competition's most prestigious category,
The Brian L. Barge Award for Excellence in Microsystems Integration, for his project “Wireless Fully Integrated Loc
for DEP-Based Cell Manipulation and Capacitive Sensing,” conducted with the research team at Polytechnique Montréal's
Polystim Neurotechnologies Laboratory.
Mr. Miled competed against students from, among others, University of Toronto, University of New Brunswick, University of British Columbia and Université de Sherbrooke. The excellence of his project and the high quality of his demonstration during the evaluation combined to earn him this honour.
Our heartiest congratulations!
