Yves Comeau, professor in the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering, named Fellow of the International Water Association
Yves Comeau, a full professor in Polytechnique Montréal's Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering, was named a Fellow of the International Water Association (IWA) at the organization's World Water Congress & Exhibition, held September 16–21 in Busan, South Korea.
This distinction is awarded annually to some 40 people worldwide in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the profession and their ongoing commitment to fulfilling the IWA's mission.
Alongside his research and teaching activities in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, Professor has been a member of the Executive Committee of the IWA's Canadian arm, the Canadian Association on Water Quality (CAWQ) for nearly 20 years, serving variously as its Secretary, Vice-President, Eastern Canada, President and Outgoing President. He has also made an active contribution to the scientific programming for the IWA's last two biennial World Water Congresses (Vienna in 2008 and Montréal in 2010) as well as sitting on the organizing committee for the Montréal event.
