Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced yesterday the creation of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council, a body of thirty young Canadians aged 16 to 24, who will provide non-partisan advice to the Prime Minister on national issues such as employment, access to education, building stronger communities as well as climate change and clean growth, among others.
Youth will be able to apply online to join the Youth Council as of this Friday, July 22. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis: a first wave of Council members will be selected by October 2016, and a second wave of Council members will be selected by early 2017.
Further information on the Youth Council and the application process is available at Canada.ca/youth, and on social media through the hashtag #PMyouthcouncil.
