Esteban – Solar car
Esteban is a Polytechnique Montréal student committee that designs and builds an electrical car which uses solar energy for fuel. In the summer of 2014, Esteban drove 2,700 km in eight days, from Austin, Texas, to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The car uses the energy equivalent to that of a hair dryer!

Folie Technique – Catapult challenge
Come tackle the catapult challenge proposed by Folie Technique, Polytechnique Montréal’s science camp. Want to figure out how to build your own catapult using only sticks, elastics and a few screws? The ultimate goal: launch a projectile as far as possible. Be creative – get in touch with your inner engineer!

Élikos
Élikos is a Polytechnique Montréal student committee that develops fully autonomous multirotor vehicles and takes part in international competitions. At the International Aerial Robotics Competition in August 2014, the team ranked first in North America and third worldwide.

PolyOrbite
PolyOrbite is a Polytechnique Montréal student committee that takes part in the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge. The competition stretches over two years; participants must design and build an operational nanosatellite. The winning satellite will be launched into orbit to carry out its mission.

PolyProject
PolyProject is a Polytechnique Montréal committee that participates in the innovative design component of the annual Québec Engineering Competition. Hooke Tensio, the server robot, is equipped with an anthropomorphic robotic arm. The four-wheel-drive robot can serve beverages, snacks, smiles and conversation. The project is in the proof-of-concept phase.

Oronos
Oronos is a Polytechnique Montréal student committee that designs, builds and operates sounding rockets which carry a payload to an altitude of up to 25,000 feet. At the 2014 Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, Oronos’s rockets broke the sound barrier, set records and won first place for the third year running!
