The workshop is organized by Prof. Jamal Chaouki and Prof. François Bertrand from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal, and Prof. Jean-Michel Ghidaglia from ENS Cachan.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers from academia and industry so that they can exchange ideas concerning the physical and numerical modeling of multiphase flows, with an emphasis on real problems of industrial nature
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a powerful tool for process design and optimization. If its use for the simulation of single fluid flow is widespread and well established, its extension to the case of multiphase flows still represents a challenge owing to the complexity and the variability of such systems: liquid- liquid, gas-liquid, solid-liquid, solid-gas, solid-liquid-gas , etc...
The workshop will take place at the Institut d'Études Scientifiques de Cargèse (IESC) in beautiful Corsica.
