Please note that a training session on research ethics with human beings will be offered in French on Monday, September 23, from noon to 2:00 pm in room L-3816.
This training is intended for all professors, researchers and students who plan to conduct research involving human subjects, be it through a survey, a questionnaire/interview/observation or an experiment. It is also intended for all those who intend to collect confidential personal data about individuals, who will use data collected for purposes other than their research project, who will carry out searches using corpses, body parts, tissues, body fluids, gametes, embryos, fetuses, human cells etc.
The training will be led by Ms. Farida Cheriet, Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Software Engineering and Chair of Polytechnique’s Research Ethics Board (REB) and Ms. Céline Roehrig, Advisor to the Chief Academic and Research Officer and Secretary and Administrative Coordinator of the REB. The presenters will briefly introduce you to the Institutional Policy on the Ethics of Research Involving Humans, the main underlying principles, the obligations of researchers stemming from them, the procedure for preparing and filing an application for certification of compliance and how to write an informed consent form, the document used to communicate to research participants all the information that a reasonable person would consider important or essential to make the decision to participate or not in a research study in a fully informed way.
If you wish to participate in this training session, please register with Ms. Joëlle-Diane Azandjeme, indicating your status at Polytechnique (eg graduate student, professor, research associate, postdoctoral fellow...).
