Seminar: A survey of applications of viability theory to the sustainable exploitation of renewable resources

“Meet a GERAD researcher!” seminar

Title: A survey of applications of viability theory to the sustainable exploitation of renewable resources

Speaker:  Aichouche Oubraham – HEC Montréal, Canada

In this seminar we will talk about the mathematical viability theory and its applications to the sustainable management of renewable resources. After a very brief refresher on this theory, we will have a look to the literature applying it to the management of renewable resources to get a general map of contributions to its different areas including ecosystems and population biology, climate change, fisheries, forestry and others. We will conclude by pointing out the gaps in the literature and issues deserving more attention in research.

Coffee and biscuits will be offered at the beginning of the seminar.
