Gregory Patience joined the Department of Chemical Engineering in 2004 and leads research programs related to fluidization, catalysis and process technology. He actively consults for Total, Haldor-Topsøe and Arkema on programs ranging from economic analysis to reaction engineering and catalysis. These collaborations have resulted in almost a dozen patents. He leads a team of 10 graduate students and researchers and has over 60 peer reviewed articles and books chapters. Before joining academia, he held various positions concerning catalysis manufacture, process design, technical marketing and management with Pont de Nemours & Co. in the USA, Spain and Switzerland. Presently, he is on the executive of the Canadian Society of Catalysis, was the Industrial Program Director for the World Congress of Chemical Engineering and is leading a program to fight malaria in Africa.
