Seminar: Multi-objective optimization of drug carrying nanoparticles for enhanced cancer therapies

“Meet a GERAD researcher!” seminar

Title
: Multi-objective optimization of drug carrying nanoparticles for enhanced cancer therapies

Speaker: Ibrahim Chamseddine – McGill University, Canada

Nanotherapy is an emerging cancer treatment that uses nanoparticles as drug carriers to target tumors. The drug efficacy is highly dependent on the nanoparticle structure. In this study, nanoparticle design optimization is performed to minimize the treatment toxicity while maximizing the tumor reduction rate. In addition, optimization methods are used to investigate a new nanoparticle delivery approach that relaxes the tradeoff between the aforementioned objective functions.
