Perceived impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the career paths and prospects of graduate students. Invitation to participate in a SURVEY study

We are looking to recruit participants for a survey on the perceived impacts and effects of COVID-19 on the paths and career prospects of magisterial and doctoral students as well as postdoctoral trainees. The survey is part of a research study funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC) under the economic recovery’s IMPULSION program.

Purpose of the study: to identify the impacts of the pandemic on the study paths and labour market integration of graduate student populations.

Eligibility to participate: be a student enrolled in a Master’s, doctorate or postdoctoral training program, or a recent graduate from these programs.

Follow-up e-mail: will be sent a few weeks following the launch of the survey.

The research is being conducted by two professors from Université Laval, Marcelline Bangali and France Picard, with Minéa Valle-Fajer (PhD), Coordinator of Graduate Professional Skills Development at Polytechnique Montréal. Also collaborating in the study are J. F. Morin (Professor at Université Laval and Director at CERMA), P. C. Kamanzi (Professor at Université de Montréal), J. Douesnard (Professor at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi), J. A. Joncas (Professor at Université de Sherbrooke), T. Lefèvre (Coordinator at CERMA) and G. Sabbatier (Project Manager at Axelys).

Your contribution is very valuable in realizing the objectives of this important study. If you agree to participate, we will ask you to fill out an online questionnaire that will take about 30 minutes to complete. The questionnaire comprises questions about your study path, the impact of the pandemic on your personal life and in some cases on your entry into the labour market.
