Come help us inventory biodiversity on campus!
On Friday, April 25th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the J.-Armand-Bombardier Building picnic area, take a moment to recharge your batteries and connect with nature! No registration required.
Even on a small campus, we can observe a wealth of biodiversity. Come discover all the hidden life!
This bioblitz is a citizen science project: we invite you to make observations via the iNaturalist platform, specifically using the iNaturalist app on your mobile device.
On site, you will be accompanied by an iNaturalist specialist and member of our community, the Sustainability Office as well as the Sustainability Squad.
Your observations count! No expertise required.
You observe, enter your observations on the iNaturalist platform, and experts will identify the listed biodiversity.
Your observations on April 25th will be used to contribute to the biodiversity inventory of Polytechnique Montréal, to the Greater Montreal inventory through the Défi nature urbaine (an urban nature challenge), and to an international biodiversity database: the Global Biodiversity Information Facility – GBIF.
You will be able to continue your observations in Greater Montreal from April 25 to April 28 so that the observations are listed as part of the Défi nature urbaine of Montréal, but also throughout the year to feed our campus inventory.
