The Institut de l’énergie Trottier (IET) invites you to the launch webinar of Infrastructure: Operationalizing the Net-Zero Transition, second thematic report of the 3rd edition of the Canadian Energy Outlook, a project which describes and analyzes the transformations required to energy services in order to meet net-zero objectives in Canada.
As modelling in IET's most recent Canadian Energy Outlook shows, Canada's climate objectives can only be achieved by adopting major technological changes that affect all energy sectors.
In order to better understand the operational issues involved in the transition of the Canadian economy to carbon neutrality, this report explores the nature of the transformations that Canada's infrastructures will have to undergo to enable us to achieve net-zero. Drawing on the most recent technical and economic modeling results, as well as the latest technological advances in the production and use of low-carbon energy, it describes the paths that will enable these infrastructures to be deployed. It thus seeks to make more concrete the structural challenges that will accompany the energy transition in an essentially Canadian context, while integrating the international context where appropriate.
