For the first time, the Montreal chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada) organizes a Quebec screening contest for the Graduate Student Business Plan Competition of the LES Foundation.
Why participate?
To learn the basis of intellectual property and license agreements;
The winner team will benefit from a free mentoring program given by professionals to help it submit a plan to the business plan competition of the LES Foundation;
The finalists selected by the LES Foundation will win a trip to present their business plan at the next LES spring meeting in Seattle, WA.

How to participate?
The contest is open to master, MBA, doctorate, or postdoctoral students of all Quebec universities.
To participate, you must submit by October 25th, an executive summary of your company with a core intellectual property component and strategies for how the intellectual property assets will be commercialized to achieve business objectives.
Three teams will be selected and invited to present their company to a panel of professionals and investors on November 22, 2012 at HEC Montreal.
Important Dates:
- October 25, 2012 : Deadline to submit your executive summary
- November 1, 2012 : Announcement of the selected companies
- November 22, 2012: Quebec screening contest at HEC Montreal (details to come)
- December 2012 to February 2013: Mentoring Program - Preparation of a business plan
- February 2013 : Deadline to submit your business plan to the LES Foundation competition
- May 2013 : Final competition in Seattle, WA
