Summary: What techniques for post-growth societies?
A key factor in the enormous economic growth of the last two centuries, many of the industrial techniques most used today are not ecologically sustainable, contribute to worsening inequalities between humans and ultimately make us ever more vulnerable and dependent. How then can we conceive techniques that, while supporting our capacity to act, allow us to live without threatening the habitability of our planet, without creating either masters or slaves and without reducing us to the state of simple cogs in a megamachine dominating us from all sides? This is the question that underlies the "low tech" approach that we will try to promote in this presentation.
