Housing

Finding somewhere to live is a major part of your move to Montréal. This section provides a general overview of the topic, along with tips for finding your dream dwelling.

You can expect to spend approximately a week apartment hunting in Montréal. The average student pays around $700-$750 a month for accommodation, including furniture, heating, electricity, telephone and Internet service. Of course, this can vary depending on where you live, the type of lodging and whether or not you want to live alone. Note that small, one-person (“studio”) apartments are relatively uncommon in the vicinity of the university, and that students frequently share larger apartments to cut costs.
