Some programs are also more specifically dedicated to AI:
Toward the end of their studies, students in computer engineering and software engineering can choose a concentration in artificial intelligence and data science.
At the graduate level, alongside research-based paths at the master's and doctoral levels, two modular professional master's (or D.E.S.S.) options in computer engineering offer an AI-focused profile: AI and Interactive Digital Entertainment and Data Engineering and Analytics. These programs deepen cross-disciplinary teaching and train the specialists who will design and deploy tomorrow's AI.
Committed to responsible AI use in research, Polytechnique Montréal is developing a new course on research ethics that addresses the responsible use of AI. Aimed at all doctoral students, it will also be offered in an adapted version for research-based master's students.

Continuing Education
Polytechnique offers short programs for professionals looking to quickly acquire the cutting-edge skills employers are seeking, while helping Quebec's public and private organizations adapt to digital transformation.
Certificates
These programs echo the Quebec government's efforts to evolve university program offerings to better meet the needs of the labour market and Quebec's economic priorities. Polytechnique Montréal has received support from the Ministry of Higher Education (Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur) to launch two certificates:
- The Certificate in Cryptocurrency and Blockchain helps build structured expertise in a fast-evolving field, spanning fraud investigation and blockchain analysis.
- The Certificate in Intelligent and Secure Systems, offered starting in fall 2027, covers the security of AI, connected systems, and quantum technologies.
This expertise also builds on a suite of seven certificates in cybersecurity and cyber investigation, fields in which Polytechnique has been meeting growing demand from the public and private sectors for several years.
Microprograms
In keeping with this practice-driven approach, Polytechnique has launched a Microprogram in Intelligent Systems Operationalization (MLOps) to address organizations' growing challenges in integrating AI into their workplaces. This microprogram provides the tools to master the reliable development, integration, deployment, and management of AI in production.
Customized Training for Businesses
Polytechnique also offers customized training programs, designed with companies to meet their specific AI needs.
