Mission
The mission of the Pomerleau Industrial Research Chair is to contribute to innovation and increased productivity of construction projects, among other means by developing high-level scientific knowledge in governance and project management as applied to the construction industry and to research, teaching and international outreach.
Close collaboration between Pomerleau professionals and the multidisciplinary team at Polytechnique Montréal will help identify promising, relevant projects, promote synergy in the completion of the research activities, and drive multiple two-way exchanges to the benefit of the advancement of knowledge.
Objectives
The Chair team will pursue five main objectives:
- Contribute to development of leading-edge knowledge in construction project governance and management, in conjunction with industry stakeholders and internationally renowned research laboratories.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and transfer between the academic and professional communities to ensure mutual enrichment of their perspectives and complementary resources in the area of construction project management.
- Participate in training of highly qualified professionals who can take leading roles in the development and execution of construction projects on the national as well as international markets.
- Support implementation of innovative initiatives in practice settings to strengthen internal capacities relating to construction projects.
- Encourage the international reach and influence of Québec and Canadian expertise in construction project governance and management.
