The construction industry is complex, and given the major projects currently in progress and others on the way, there is a pressing need to pursue innovation and improvements to management processes, with the ultimate goal of achieving greater performance and reducing delivery lead times.
Researchers at the Pomerleau Industrial Research Chair in Innovation and Construction Project Governance at Polytechnique Montréal will study solutions to drive innovation in this industry.

We are pleased to announce that the Pomerleau Chair will benefit from a budget of $240,000 over two years (2020-2021), of which $108,000 comes from Pomerleau and $132,000 from Mitacs Acceleration. This budget will be used to fund a research project on the integration of various technologies for the reengineering and automation of construction project management and execution processes.
fqrnt grant of $63,000 awarded to sara momennia rankohi
We are proud to announce that Sara Momennia Rankohi, a doctoral student at the Chair, has been awarded a doctoral research scholarship for an amount of $63,000 for three years (2020-2023) from the Fonds de recherche - Nature et technologies (FQRNT). The student's research project is entitled: "Comparative analysis and determinants of project delivery methods: the case of 4.0 construction projects".
NSERC Discovery Grant of $150,000 to Mario Bourgault, Pomerleau Chairholder
We are pleased to announce that Mario Bourgault, Pomerleau Chairholder, received a Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in May 2019 for an amount of $150,000 over five years. The proposed research project aims to develop a model of how construction projects are carried out, taking into account the variables that characterize the execution context. This research will lead to the design of a decision support tool for an optimal choice of implementation mode, based on the variables characterizing a given situation.
