ABEO is the institutional platform used to register travel undertaken as part of university activities in Canada or abroad.
It enables Polytechnique Montréal to better support members of its community before, during and after their travel.
Register Your Travel in ABEO
To help ensure the safety of its community during travel related to university activities, Polytechnique Montréal provides its community with ABEO, an institutional platform for registering mobility-related travel.
Polytechnique Montréal faculty members, employees and students travelling as part of a university activity are encouraged to register their travel in ABEO, particularly when travelling abroad or to a remote region of Canada.*
We recommend registering your travel in ABEO as soon as it is confirmed and at least four weeks before departure.
*“Remote region”: A region in Canada located more than 1.5 hours away, using available means of transportation, from a secondary- or tertiary-care hospital or a major regional hospital providing emergency health care or specialized services.
Why Register Your Travel?
Registering your travel in ABEO allows you to:
- access useful information and resources to help you prepare for your departure and receive support in the event of an emergency during your travel;
- assess the risks associated with your travel and, when necessary, obtain the required authorizations;
- contribute to the collection of institutional travel data and the calculation of Polytechnique Montréal’s carbon footprint.
Preparing for Safe Travel
The ABEO platform provides a range of tools and resources to help members of the Polytechnique Montréal community prepare for mobility-related travel.
However, each individual remains responsible for taking the necessary measures to ensure their own safety and the safety of those accompanying them.
