Ramin Karimi Azari 
Bio

Ramin Karimi Azari is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal. His research focuses on advanced materials and innovative fabrication processes, bridging neuromorphic computing and battery technologies. He employs in operando and in situ techniques to study charge transport, response time, and interfacial dynamics of synaptic transistors for advanced device applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and energy storage. He also serves as coordinator of the Collaborative Research and Training Experience in Sustainable Electronics and Eco-Design (CREATE SEED) program. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from Polytechnique Montréal and his M.Sc. in Photonics.

Bio

Alexandre Carrière is a Ph.D. student in engineering physics. Holding a bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Polytechnique Montréal, he focuses his research on the valorization of materials extracted from nature or that are byproducts of other industrial processes. His expertise lies primarily in the chemical and electrical characterization of these materials, with the aim of reducing the environmental footprint of the electronics sector.

Camille Bour-Cardinal 

Bio

Camille Bour-Cardinal is an international Ph.D. student in Material Engineering at Polytechnique (Montréal, Canada) and an engineering student in Grenoble INP – Pagora (Grenoble, France). At Pagora she studied biosourced and fibrous materials, and at Polytechnique she mainly works on biosourced conductive inks for printed electronics. Camille enjoys sports in general, food and cooking.

Camille Garnier is an international student pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) and an engineering degree in Materials Science and Engineering at INSA Lyon (France). Her research interests include waste valorization, circular economy and green chemistry. Camille enjoys playing volleyball and is a member of a crochet club.

Elliott Menu 

Bio

Elliott Menu holds a bachelor degree in engineering physics from Polytechnique Montreal and is currently pursuing a M.Sc.A in the same field. His areas of interest include: organic electronics, RONS sensors and sustainability. Elliott prides himself on his involvement in the program's student comitee, having played different roles as an undergraduate, like academic representative and director. Outside of the lab, Elliott likes reading and sports like running, biking and rock climbing.

Kesawarthini BhaskaranBio

Kesawarthini Bhaskaran, a Ph.D. student from India, obtained her bachelor's degree in Physics in 2021 and her master's degree in Physics from SRM Institute of Science and Technology in 2023. In January 2024, she joined Polytechnique Montreal as a PhD student in Engineering Physics. She has experience in biosensors and transistors, contributing to her growing expertise in these fields.

Melchiade Manirakiza 

Bio

Melchiade MANIRAKIZA is Ph.D. student from Burundi. He got his bachelor's degree in physics at Badji Mokhtar University in 2014 and his master’s degree in applied physics at university of sciences and technology of Oran in 2016 (Algeria). Since 2018 to 2022, Melchiade Manirakiza worked as assistant lecturer at Ecole Normale Supérieure of Burundi (ENS). September 2022, He joined the Polytechnique Montreal as a Ph.D. student in Engineering Physics.

Michel Bilodeau-Calame

Michel Bilodeau-CalameBio

Michel received his Bachelor in 2018 and his Master’s degree in 2021 from École Polytechnique de Montréal in Chemical Engineering. His previous works focused on electropolymerized conducting polymers. His current project will focus on using carbon materials for energy generation and storage, under the co-supervision of Professors Clara Santato and Julian Self. He enjoys hiking, playing music and cooking.

Bio

Shahid Khaleel is a Ph.D. student in Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montreal. He obtained his MSc degree in Theoretical Particle Physics from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and his MTech degree in Solid State Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. Currently, his research is focused on exploring the intricate mechanisms of charge carrier transport within electronic materials derived from biosources.

Yasser Matos-Peralta 

Bio

Yasser Matos-Peralta born in Cuba (Cárdenas) in 1992. He received a Bachelor´s degree (2016) and a Master´s degree (2020) in Chemistry at the University of Havana, Cuba. His background is focused on fields like electrochemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, and materials science. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the Materials Engineering program under the supervision of Prof. Clara Santato at Polytechnique Montreal. His research interests include bio-sourced materials for electrochemical energy storage applications.

Sharly has been working as an intern in the laboratory since May 2024, and she is currently involved in a collaborative project with IMT Albi (summer of 2026). She is in her fourth year of Engineering Physics and has a strong interest in the characterization of biomaterials for environmentally sustainable electronic applications. She is also excited to contribute to the development and characterization of a device that combines these interests.
