Open house day 2013: a smashing success!
With more than 2,050 visitors, yesterday's Polytechnique Montréal annual open house was a major success. Students, families and curious individuals came by to learn more about the programs we offer and to discover the exciting world of engineering and research!
In total, 400 people helped to organize the event. While visitors were outdoors, the mini-baja all-terrain vehicle and
the Polytechnique Montréal formula race car gave them plenty to look at, and the main building and the Lassonde buildings were
also abuzz with activities. The many prototypes displayed by our fascinating technical societies, some 15 science presentations
on stage, and a catapult contest featuring Folie Technique (Polytechnique's science camp) all attracted lots of interest!
Along with an exhibition of final projects created by current students, 30 student committees and a range of activities run by
the departments, 10 guided tour paths introduced visitors to the research activities conducted in our 20 one-of-a-kind
laboratories.
Visitors could also find out about our graduates' career perspectives and about our exchange programs and international
internship opportunities.
Microprograms, graduate diplomas, course-based master's degrees, research-based master's degrees, doctorates: at the graduate level, Polytechnique also showcased its range of more than 70 programs in 15 engineering
disciplines as well as its 12 bachelor's programs.
NEXT OPEN HOUSE
Polytechnique opens its doors again on the evening of Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Admission is open
until March 1, 2014.
