International kick-off for Robofoot
German Open 2005 in April
Robofoot is preparing for the German Open, an international competition to be held in Paderborn, Germany, from April 8 to 10,
2005. Robofoot will be the only Canadian team in the Middle-Size Robot League.
RoboCup 2005 (the Robot World Cup Soccer Games) in July
The news is out: Robofoot has qualified for the World Cup!
RoboCup, which will be held in July 2005 in Osaka, Japan, is much more than a game where teams of robots from around the world
battle it out for the trophy. It is above all an international scientific research initiative created to design and develop a
team of fully autonomous humanoid robot soccer players that are able to win a soccer game, in compliance with the official FIFA
rules, against the world's soccer champions by 2050.
An exceptional scientific and personal experience
Qualifying for these major events after barely two
years of existence is proof of the exceptional work the students have carried out on the Robofoot project. We wish them every
success as their robots courageously defend École Polytechnique against their international adversaries.
Championships of this kind favour scientific exchanges and the Robofoot team will benefit from this unique experience by furthering its progress in the field of robotics. Moreover, the team can certainly count on its fans at École Polytechnique to support it every step of the way.
