Thierry Warin appointed Vice-President of CIRANO's new "international strategy and economics" research field
Thierry Warin, associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering, has been appointed Vice-President of the new “international strategy and economics” research field of the Centre Interuniversitaire de Recherche en Analyse des Organisations (interuniversity research centre for organizational analysis, better known by its French acronym CIRANO).
A fellow at CIRANO since 2010, Professor Warin is working on several research projects, including ones on the impact of Canada-Europe free trade agreements on Canadian and Québec industries, as well as on questions of technology transfer and economic development. He is co-directing the Year of International Affairs at CIRANO and has organized several lectures on major issues in international finance.
As Vice-President
of CIRANO's new “international strategy and economics” research field, he will be in charge of providing scientific
leadership for the group, recruiting new researchers, and co-ordinating the transfer of research results to CIRANO's partners,
government ministries and the business world.
