As part of its focus on sustainable development, Polytechnique is finding new ways to foster green initiatives.

The Fonds de développement durable (sustainable development fund) was created to encourage sustainable development projects among the Polytechnique community. This fund will finance projects related to the recently launched Politique en matière de développement durable (sustainable development policy) which aims to raise awareness about sustainable development while promoting social and humanitarian engagement, greener living conditions, a reduced environmental impact and responsible resource management. Funding will be granted on a yearly basis starting in fall 2011.

Polytechnique has also published a list of eco-friendly gestures to adopt when organizing events.
