Polytechnique publishes its 2009-2010 Sustainability Report
Prepared by the Comité de gestion environnementale de Polytechnique (environmental management committee - COGEP) in association with other Polytechnique community members, the 2009-2010 Sustainability Report, Comprendre Consolider Innover (Understanding, Consolidating, Innovating) is now available at www.polymtl.ca/enviropoly/docs/documents/Rapportdedurabilite2009-2010.pdf.
The report, which follows on five earlier environmental reports, covers the period June 1, 2009, to May 31, 2010, and is the first of its kind. "This report details our actions in terms of three key areas of sustainable development, and presents our main achievements as well as the challenges we faced," says Louise Millette, a professor with the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering and Chair of COGEP. "For Polytechnique, the success of this green undertaking is closely tied to the report's three underlying principles: understanding sustainable development, consolidating our assets, and innovating in our methods. Thanks to the invaluable contributions of everyone who helped develop the report, we have been able to broaden the accountability process."

Note that, on January 27, 2011, the Board of Directors of Polytechnique Montréal adopted the Politique en matière de
développement durable (sustainable development policy) and replaced the COGEP with the Comité de développement durable de
l'École Polytechnique (sustainable development committee - CODDEP). The new policy is available online at: www.polymtl.ca/rensgen/doc/CAD1024_4_2A_Politique_matiere_developpement_durable.pdf
