Laure Lizon-A-Lugrin, a master's student in energy engineering, won the award for "Best Paper Presented by a Young Author" at the Nuclear Energy for New Europe 2010 conference.

Laure is researching thermo-nuclear reactors under the supervision of Alberto Teyssedou, a full professor at École Polytechnqiue's Department of Engineering Physics.

The conference took place in Portorož, Slovenia, from September 6 to 9, 2010. Laure's paper, titled "Appropriate Thermodynamic Cycles to be Used in Future Pressure-Channel Supercritical Water-Cooled Nuclear Power Plants," was co-authored by her research director, Igor Pioro, a professor at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
