The awards are proliferating for Arthur Pelton, full professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, who was presented with the prestigious ArcelorMittal Dofasco Award 2011 from the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum on October 3 at the metallurgists' 50th annual conference.

The award recognizes his significant contribution to the advancement of materials engineering in Canada throughout his career. Professor Pelton was extremely surprised to be given the distinction: "I am very happy to have been presented with this award, but most especially I am surprised, because I didn't submit an application. I will be looking for the person who did!" he said with a smile.
